World Cancer Day, led by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), is a global initiative that brings the world together in the fight against the cancer epidemic. Observed every year on 4 February, it provides a powerful platform for collective action, awareness, and advocacy.
From 3–5 February 2026, Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) marked World Cancer Day through a series of meaningful, people-centric initiatives aligned with UICC’s theme United by Unique, reaffirming its mission of awareness, prevention, early detection, and compassionate care. The iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, a UNESCO World Heritage site, glowed orange as a symbol of hope and solidarity. Across Mumbai, CPAA amplified prevention messages through railway stations, local trains, and outdoor hoardings.
In Pune, CPAA celebrated with adult and pediatric patients and their families, supported by Xoriant volunteers, including ration kits for 90 pediatric patients. Screening camps at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers, Chembur, and awareness sessions at the Piramal Mahalaxmi site reinforced CPAA’s constant endeavour—ensuring every unique cancer journey is met with care and hope.
