Ishwari was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when she was 5 years old and has been since taking treatment at B J Wadia Hospital, Mumbai under Dr. Sangeeta Mudaliar. She has been advised chemotherapy radio therapy and a year and a half of oral maintenance therapy. As of now she has completed just two cycles of her chemotherapy injections. Her family hails from Ratnagiri and her father works as a laborer and earns Rs 4,000 (INR) per month.
