ROSE DAY
ROSE Day, CPAA's project dedicated to bringing smiles to cancer patients, has grown from strength to strength over the past 18 years. Rose Day is a human expression that says, 'I Care'. Looking deeper however, it’s what gives CPAA the dynamism and scope to engage itself in the very real issues of cancer - treatment, the prohibitive costs of cancer drugs, the lack of awareness, the endemic proportions of head and neck cancers thanks to our tobacco chewing habits. The various events organised to mark this day were:
Mumbai: Entertainment programs were organised at various hospitals and cancer care centers such as Tata Memorial Hospital, Shanti Avedana, St. Jude's, India Childcare Centre, ACTREC Hospital, B J Wadia, Cama & Albless, BYL Nair, Asha Cancer Hospital, Bharat Seva Sangh, Prince Ali Khan Hospital, B.D. Petit Parsee General, KEM Hospital, Holy Spirit Hospital, Bombay Hospital and many other with the support of Artist Aloud. Over 3000 patients were reached and gifted utility bags distributed at these centers. CPAA’s Rose Warrior campaign enlisted young, enthusiastic school children to partner with us in our battle against cancer, where the children showed their concern by stepping out of their comfort-zone to collect funds and entertained patients in hospitals. This year the highest collection of Rs. 3 lakhs was made by The Dadar Parsee Youth Assembly High School. Photos >>
